Happy Thanksgiving

Hello everyone -- welcome back to Monday!

This week officially kicks off the Holiday Season -- starting with Thanksgiving,  Black Friday, Cyber Monday and all the (crazy!!) fun that comes with this time of year. With that in mind (and without getting too philosophical), I thought I'd focus on something that often gets overlooked and something that is especially important in our world near and far. Peace!

When I first saw Deena's French Country Prints - Wheat I knew I had to create something with this downloadable image. It's just gorgeous and was perfect for my Thanksgiving Day cards. The natural colors reflect the beauty of nature and fit in with my Peaceful Wishes theme.

You get two images with this downloadable -- one with a white background and the other with an aged burlap look! Aren't they just lovely!!

For my cards I used the white background image. After printing it and cutting it to the size of my card, I adorned it with a piece of festive gold ribbon and adhered the panel to a green cardstock card. I then attached the hand-stamped message "Peaceful Wishes" (also in green cardstock). The final touch was to add gold and pearl embellishments in the upper corner.

Birds About Town Cards

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a lovely weekend!

Today I'm featuring cards I made with Deena's Collage Sheet - Birds About Town. I have to say that these bird images are just delightful and it was so much fun to make these cards. You will get 12 images on a sheet and I used three of the larger images.

After cutting out the images, I glued them to a panel of yellow and white striped paper. I then attached a piece of red and white gingham ribbon and a button.

As a finishing touch, I stamped "Just for You" onto white cardstock and attached that to the striped panel. I then glued the panel to an ivory card.

Aren't these birds so cheery and sweet? They make such a fun greeting!!

Kindness Matters Cards

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Yesterday was the beginning of Daylight Saving Time and for me that's a sure sign that winter is over. It's definitely been a long, tough winter here and kindness sure has gone a long way in getting us through those cold and brutal days. That's why I selected Deena's Kindness Matters Hang Tags for the cards I'm featuring today.

There are four different images and you will receive two of each on one sheet. These downloadables are so easy -- just print and cut and ready to use!

The hang tags are cheery and lovely so I decided to keep my cards simple so the tags would really stand out. I used a kraft card as the base and layered that with a panel of light green paper. I added two strips of polka-dotted ribbon and then adhered the tag on top of that.

I added pink and black striped buttons to top of each tag and that was it!

This tag is my favorite!

Postcard Valentine Greetings

Happy Monday everyone and welcome to February! Today is Groundhog Day and I am hoping he doesn't see his shadow -- I've had enough winter weather for this season!

One of the (few) benefits of winter is that I'm more inclined to spend time indoors -- which means more craft time! Today I'm featuring Valentine's Day cards that I created using Deena's Hang Tags - Postcard Valentine Greetings. I just love this downloadable because it is so pretty and the vintage style is a favorite of mine!!

You will get eight images on a page (two of each image). There are four different images, so I decided to make four cards.

I printed the tags on white cardstock, cut out four, and adhered them to panels of pastel pink and turquoise paper. I backed the pastel papers with dark brown paper and then attached each to a red card. 

I added a strip of the brown paper under each tag and added three pearl embellishments. "Just for You" is stamped in brown ink onto coordinating pastel paper and attached with dimensional glue dots. If I were presenting this card with a gift, I could use the matching image as a coordinating gift tag!!

Halloween Cards using Bookmarks

Today I have some Halloween cards I made using the, "Halloween Bookmarks" Printables file. You get 2 of each bookmark, 4 on a page.

I printed the file onto cream colored cardstock, cut them out and used them as a pattern to cut out chipboard (I used an empty cereal box for chipboard) to add some rigidness to them. I used both copies of the bookmarks putting the chipboard in between them.

I added an eyelet at the top and added a piece of twine to the eyelet. I frayed a piece of burlap and added it to my card base, the cards measure 4 1/2" wide x 7" tall when folded. The burlap measures 3" wide x 7" tall. I adhered the burlap to the card face with double sided tape and the bookmark to the burlap with foam pads.

I also added twine and a button to the folded side and jewels to the opening side. They were fun and easy to make and I'm sure that my snail mail pals are going to love them.

Fall Finds

Hi everyone! Welcome to the weekend!

I hope you love Halloween as much as I do. I know it's more than one month away, but it's such a fun holiday so I have no problem starting the festivities early. Here's a way to get your loved ones and friends into the 'spirit' now, too. Who wouldn't love to get one of these delightful cards!

These festive cards were created using Deena's Hang Tags - Fall Finds. This downloadable comes with four different designs (and a total of 12 tags altogether).

I started with an ivory card and layered it with a panel of green 'distressed-looking' paper. Before I attached the green panel to the card, I stamped "Happy Halloween" in green ink and then attached a piece of green gingham ribbon to it.

For today's cards, I chose the black crow and pumpkin images -- they really say Halloween to me!

After printing and cutting out the tags, I distressed the edges with green ink, attached an eyelet to the top and tied a piece of green twine through the opening. Then I glued the tag to the card! Super easy and super cute!!

Love Sheep Cards

Good morning. I hope that everything is going great on this September day.

Is everyone ready for fall? I have stated to put a few fall things out and I am loving all the colors.

Decided to do some cards with warm fall colors. And I used these adorable sheep tags. Aren't they cute! One thing that I love to do on my cards it put faux stitching around the edges. It just makes it pop.

I love the solid colors behind the tag on this card. Just reminds me of simpler times.

I think these two sheep are great for a love you card. They are under a heart willow tree.

Cards and Tags - Victorian Flowers Collage Sheet

Hello again! I love fall and all the earthy colors, but no matter the season I love pretty flowers. For today’s project I’m featuring Deena’s Collage Sheet –Victorian Flowers that I used to create cards and matching gift tags. I like to make cards and matching gift tags because it keeps things coordinated and makes gift wrapping easy!

This collage sheet comes with six gorgeous floral images (two of each in a large and smaller size). It was hard to pick just one or two! After printing out the sheet, I cut out the images I wanted to use – but this time I left some of the white around the border. It really makes these beautiful images stand out!!!

  

For the card, I started with white cardstock layered with a pink panel and placed the floral image on top. The bottom half features a hand stamped image “live your dreams” in black ink on a white with cream base and adorned with a cute black and white polka-dot button. I attached a piece of white trim to the center of the card that goes so well with the Victorian flower theme!

I created a matching tag – also keeping some of white showing around the border of the flower image. I added a black and white polka-dot ribbon that coordinates with the button on the card!

I like how the polka dots give a modern contrast to the lovely old-fashioned flower images!

Pretty Kitty Cards

Hello again and happy July 1!  Summer is moving along so quickly and I hope everyone is having fun. And, speaking of -- I had so much fun creating these cards for my latest post.

This adorable image is from Ewe-N-Printables Instant Download - French Country Pretty Kitty. This darling feline has such a sweet face and is featured atop a French script background. The vintage French look is so popular right now and a look I’ve really taken to.

I downloaded and printed two images – one with a white background and the other with an aged background. I adhered both to a chocolate brown panel which I then attached to an ivory card. I like the brown background because it really makes this image pop and it’s not as harsh as black.

In keeping with the French theme, I hand stamped “Mon Amie” on a paper scrap and placed it slightly off center. I added black buttons and a black and white gingham ribbon which add both a charming touch and country flair.

My final touch was to add the blue gemstones – I like them because they are playful and bring out the blue in kitty’s collar!
