Birthday Cards with Watering Can Hang Tags

Happy Monday, everyone!

Glorious spring weather has finally arrived and is finally sticking around! Yeah! Aside from paper crafting, I don't think there's anything better than being outdoors and enjoying all the beauty of nature. I mean, what can be lovelier than all the springtime blooms?

So, with spring flowers on my mind, I decided to create a couple of birthday cards using Deena's Watering Cans Hang Tags. Aren't they the perfect images for this time of year?

You will get three different images with this downloadable and will also receive them in two different sizes -- for a total of six images to a page. For my birthday cards, I used the smaller images which measure 2.5" x 3.25" in size. I printed them on white cardstock and then cut them out -- doesn't get much easier than that!

I used white cards as my base and layered each one with a panel of green and white polka-dotted paper. The green color is really cheery and is a wonderful background for those tags!

After adhering the tags to each card, I added embellishments to each. For this card I attached a green wooden flower and a "birthday wishes" panel.

I added a black and white ribbon to this card, which gives it a touch of country charm!!

These cards were so much fun to create! The watering cans and flowers were the perfect theme for cheery birthday cards!

Canvas and Card Set

Here in Ohio, Mother Nature seems to have forgotten that it is Spring! We've had snow (and lots of it) and so I can only hope that the weather changes soon. To keep my spirits up, I'm dreaming of my garden and flowers and was truly inspired by Deena's Printable Deposit Seed Co. Cocoa/Treat Envelope.

The colors are so pretty, and if this doesn't get me in the mood for Spring, I don't know what will. The file comes with the packet on an 8.5 x 11 page and a page of instructions. I decided to use the images to create a mixed media canvas and matching card.

I started with a 5 x 7 canvas panel and painted it with a soft yellow acrylic paint. When that dried I glue a piece yellow burlap to canvas and then added the Deposit Seed Co. image. I think the blue and violet colors contrast so well with the yellow. I stamped "You make me smile" on ivory cardstock and adhered that along with two wooden flower embellishments.

For the card, I used similar materials so that it could be presented with the canvas as a coordinated set. The ivory dragonfly brad is so sweet and I couldn't resist using it here!

Mother's Day will be here soon, and this would make a great gift set. It would also make a special gift for a garden lover. You could easily print off another image and add your seed packet to the set, too!

Kindness Matters Note Cards

In an effort to restock my note card supply I have made a few more this week using this file:

 

I really love the pretty spring colors, you can find this file here: Ewe-N-Me Printables  You get 2 each of 4 different designs for a total of 8 hang tags per sheet and you can print as many sheets as you need.

 

 

I used a couple of different ways to decorate these, I used burlap on a few and a cute spring embossing folder on a few.

 

After adhering some thin chipboard to the images I cut them out, inked the edges, punched a hole in the top of each one and added some twine then a couple of sequins for a little sparkle.

Lilac and Lavender Bookmarks

Happy Monday all!

I have to keep reminding myself it is Spring, especially since we had snow this weekend. After the mild winter we had here, it's a bit dispiriting to see snow now. Hopefully, this is last of it until next winter!!

In the meantime, I'm keeping myself focused on Spring and what better way to do so than with Deena's cheery Lilac Lavender Bookmarks!

The size is 2.25" x 6" and you will get four images to a page (there are two different images). I just love the color and vintage look.

After printing the bookmarks on white cardstock, I cut them out and backed them with blue cardstock. It's hard to see in the photo, but the blue paper has a bit of sparkle! I punched a hole at the top of each and threaded a piece of twine through each. It doesn't get much easier than this!

I love the color of the lilac and lavender flowers against the blue background. And the newsprint gives them a lovely vintage look!

These bookmarks would make a great gift set -- perfect for a gardener or anyone who loves flowers!

Spring Note Cards

Good morning, I hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter Sunday. I have been playing with these super cute vintage postcards. Being a snail mailer I can always use some cute note cards and this file is perfect:

 

You can find this file here: Ewe-N-MePrintables Hang Tags - Song in Your Heart Postcards you get 4 total postcards on each sheet and you can print as many as you want to.

 

So, you may wonder, why are there only 3 rust note cards? Well, that was one of those funny, "WHAT did I just do things".......While I was cutting with my wavy blade in my paper trimmer, I managed to do the bottom cut on the fold side.

 

 

I was a bit more careful with my yellow note cards.

 

After doing the wavy edge cut I added ribbon, flowers and leaves plus a few jewels. These make great note cards for you or would make a very nice gift for any occasion and are very fast and easy to make.

Spring has Sprung

Hello and welcome to the first Monday in March!

This month is full of all sorts of  celebrations -- St. Patrick's Day, the first day of Spring and Easter! Wow!

Deena's downloadable, Hang Tags - Spring Subway Art, is the perfect printable to work with now. It's colorful and cheerful and contains all of the words that come to mind when you thing Spring.

There are three different designs and you will get three of each on a page. I decided to make three separate cards with each image.

After printing and cutting out the images, I backed each onto a panel of blue sparkly paper that I had on hand. It was left over from wedding shower invitations that I had created for my niece. The color matched perfectly and was the perfect background for those colorful words. 

I adorned each panel with a strip of blue and white polka-dotted ribbon (also from the invites), a sparkly white brad and paper flowers made of shades of peach. They sure accent the words nicely! 

I then attached the panel to card in a lighter shade of blue. These cards would be a lovely greeting to send for Easter, a spring birthday or any special occasion. The colors are definitely cheery and smile worthy!

Pink Rose Card

Hello and happy Monday! And, happy leap day!

March always signals the end of winter for me and what better way to celebrate the beginning of spring than with beautiful flowers! Today I'm featuring a card that features Deena's French Country Prints - Pink Rose.

Isn't that rose just gorgeous? This downloadable comes with two images -- one on a white background and the other on an aged burlap background. 

The card I'm featuring today uses the aged burlap version.

I printed out two 5x7 images on cardstock and adhered one of them to a chocolate brown card. The dark brown really makes that pink rose pop and I like the way it enhances the french script background, too.

This image is so lovely by itself it doesn't need any enhancement at all. I only added the shabby chic flower to give the card a bit of dimension.

Such an easy project but with such outstanding results!

Sketch Journals

Spring has arrived in Northwest Arizona and spring brings flowers to mind. These hydrangeas are so pretty that I just couldn't resist this file.

 

You get two different images on one sheet and you can print as many as you need.

 





 I decided that I needed a couple of little sketch books that I can take along with me where ever I go.

 



After printing each image onto a 4" x 6" postcard, I mounted them onto pieces of 5 1/2" x 8" cardstock. I cut up an old cereal box to fit in between 2 pieces of the 5 1/2" x 8" cardstock. Then I added some ribbon, brads, sequins and it doesn't show in the photos but some Glossy Accents to the flower centers.

I used my Cinch to bind the pages and covers together.

Victorian Floral Cards and Mini Journals

Hi everyone!

It's the middle of February and where I live that means lots of snow and lots of cold temperatures!!! Brrr!! Because of that, I'm thinking ahead to Spring and what better way to do so than with Deena's Victorian Floral Note Card and Envelope with Hang Tags!

This downloadable features a note card and three hang tags with a gorgeous floral image done in lovely spring colors. An envelope template is also included.

I printed out two sheets since I decided to make two cards. After printing and cutting out the note cards, I backed them with pastel pink panel and adhered them to an ivory card.

I adorned each card with a blue and white satin ribbon and a variety of  spring-themed embellishments.

For the mini-journals, I cut out two of the hang tags. I covered two small composition books with polka-dotted paper and then glued the floral images to each.

I decorated the edge of each journal with white felt rick-rack trim along with burlap and canvas strips. For a finishing touch I attached a paper flower adorned with a white brad in the center. 

This downloadable is so versatile and I like how I was able to use the images in different ways! This was such an enjoyable project and makes me really look forward to Spring!

My Arizona Garden

Back in Michigan I always had some type of garden, but here in NW Arizona the soil is sand and the ground is hard, our backyard is not user friendly, it's a long steep walk on a gravel covered path down to the bottom. Gardening here would take raised beds and more room than our current back yard offers so this is my Arizona Garden. 

I started with this beautiful collage sheet. You get 9 different seed envelopes and you can print them as many times as you need to.

 



I printed the file onto glossy photo paper then I backed it with a piece of chipboard and cut them out using my paper trimmer. Then I glued wooden sticks onto the backs of the images.

Using an old seed starter set up I had on hand I put a few coats of Mod Podge on the wooden crate and painted the pots off white.

 

When the Mod Podge dried I stamped images on the ends of the crate with StazOn ink and colored them with markers.

 

 

 

I didn't have anything on hand to fill the pots with so I went out into the yard and collected some of our landscaping rocks. Then I went to town decorating the front of the crate using, buttons, brads (I took off the prongs on the backs and attached them with my hot glue gun) and butterflies I cut and embossed with my Cuttlebug using some of the beautiful papers my kids have sent me from Japan.

Love is in the Air

Happy Monday friends! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and a lovely Mother's Day.

There are so many special holidays and occasions this time of the year. Is there anything lovelier than a beautiful spring wedding? The gorgeous colors and flowers of the season are perfect for romance and new beginnings. Today I'm featuring a wedding card I created using Deena's Love is in the Air Cocoa/Treat Envelope.

The combination of pink and brown, the beautiful birds and iconic Eiffel Tower simply embody love and romance!

I printed the envelope on white cardstock and cut out the front of the envelope, minus the flaps. I adhered it to this great kraft paper card from 7Gypsies that has a panel of canvas already stitched to the front. A real bonus for me since, alas, I don't sew!!!

I love the pink and brown image against the natural colors of the card and canvas. Once that was done, I glued a piece of white trim to the top of the image to add to the romantic feeling. I stamped a wooden butterfly embellishment with vintage script in brown ink and then added three seed pearls. It fit so nicely in the bottom corner.

This card was so simple to make, yet looks so elegant and lovely.While it makes a great wedding card, it would be perfect for an anniversary, engagement or even Valentine's Day.

Spring Tea Party

Spring has sprung so it is time for a tea party to celebrate. I collect teaware, most of mine is from England, the set I have used here is from Royal Standard and manufactured sometime after 1949, was purchased by an American GI and brought home for his wife. I have the original receipt, the buyer paid 9 pounds for it.

This week I decided to go with this adorable tea bag printable Hello Spring

 

This little chick looks like he is already for springtime. You get 2 tea envelopes on the sheet and can print them as many times as you like. It can also be used for Easter.

 

 

 

All of my papers are scraps from the DCWV Flower Shower Spring Stack. The card measures 6" x 6", I cut a banner and ran it through the paper crimper my BFF sent me this past week. Thank you Renee.

 

The scalloped circles are the 2 largest in the Spellbinders set. After gluing the circle layers together I also crimped them.

 

Cut out my tea bag envelope and assembled it (a few folds) and attached it on top of the circles. I added a piece of twine to the side.

 

Besides my Granddaughter, having tea with my tea friend Kare at some of Michigan's finest tea rooms is something that I really, really miss from Michigan. We used to try to get together once a month if possible to enjoy afternoon tea, at times I would bring my Granddaughter along. When my son and his gal came to the US to get married, afternoon tea was a must at my favorite spot, Thyme Well Spent Tearoom .

 

 

I'm the blonde, Miki the bride is wearing the hat and my Baby Girl Rachael. Not a very good picture but a wonderful time was had by all. Kare was ill and couldn't join us for the day but she did make it for the wedding.

Gift box with matching card

I love chickens so when I saw this printable I just had to have it, one of these days I would like to have a few chickens of my own. Link to printable

 

You get 7 images on the sheet, 3 of the larger image and 4 of the smaller one. I used two of the bigger images on the box and 1 of the smaller images on the card.

 

 

I made this cute gift box and matching card. The box is cut using my Cricut and Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2 cartridge. The papers were printed with my Imagine. I used my Cuttlebug Alphabet Dies to cut the, "Hello Spring".

 

 

After cutting the box out I added the checkerboard paper then wrapped a black and white stripped ribbon then topped that ribbon with red ribbon. I added red and black twine at the top and tied it into a bow. I adhered the images using foam pads.

 





 

I used the same papers on the card but added a piece of read to break up the checkerboard paper. Wrapped the same ribbons around the checkerboard and lower part of the red layer, I used foam tape to adhere the layers to the card face with some extra foam tape under the shaker portion. I used clear beads and red sequins to the shaker element. And added a piece of red twine to the folded edge.

Hello My Friend

Happy Monday!

The calendar says Spring and Easter is a week away, but you'd never know it where I live! There's snow on the ground and it's cold. I need a bit of cheering up!

What better way to do so than to work on this wonderful note card set called Hello My Friend - Bicycle! The colors are bright and cheery and the handsome fellow in the photo definitely made me smile!

I printed both the card and envelope on white stock and then cut them out like so:

I cut out the front of the card and adhered it to a heavier white stock for more support since I was adding embellishments. I had the flower on hand and it matched the colors of the card perfectly. The white felt rick-rack was a recent purchase from the clearance bin at Joanne's -- I couldn't resist it -- and it adds a bit of fun to the card.

This note card set is just delightful! Who wouldn't love to receive this cheery greeting!
